David has worked as a musician in the entertainment industry for well over 50 years.

As a youth he trained as a church organist and went on to be the organist and choirmaster of various churches including the large parish church of St Mary’s, Bury St Edmunds.

Whilst studying musical instrument repair in the late 1960s he landed a Saturday night job playing organ at a Bingo Hall in London’s east end, the building had been a cinema and still possessed its 1920s Wurlitzer pipe organ. This lead to playing engagements in other organ equipped venues throughout the country. he also toured the clubs with a Hammond organ and demonstrated electronic ’home organs’ for a large East Anglian chain of music shops.

As well as recitals David is much in demand for the accompaniment of vintage silent films at both churches and theatres. Silent film is something of a family tradition – his grandfather ran a 800 seat “Kinema” during the silent era.

David was resident organist at the Mechanical Music Museum, Cotton, Suffolk for 35 years and is now the Principal organist at the Grange Musical Collection, Palgrave, Suffolk.
